One can not go to Bali and not eat Lobsters!

Lobsters + Bali = YUMMY!

It had to be Bali for me to eat lobster. It was the last night in Bali and I wanted to treat myself. I had seen a lot of lobsters around but I wanted to be careful where I would eat it.

I chose to eat at the hotel where I was staying, at the Ayodya Resort in Nusa Dua. The hotel is seriously like a huge palace. Its the most beautiful resort and hotel I have ever stayed in (besides the Jungle Resort too, of course).

Back to the lobster excitement – I really enjoyed it. The hotel’s outdoor restaurant, called, Ayodya Beach Club and  Grill has got a great selection of food and drinks and all is relatively reasonably priced if you consider the fact that you are eating at a resort with a beach view and great atmosphere all around.

The lobster was part of the platter cause the whole platter consisted of other seafood – crab, mussels and calamari – and some bbq-ed corn too!

Its been a week since I got back home from Bali. I miss it every day. Going to Bali has been a dream come true.

Stay tuned for more food and Bali!

Till the next time,

Starbucks and Malta in the same sentence!

Flash news! Starbucks opens an outlet in Malta! Whaaaat?! Yep! Many Maltesers were rooting for such thing to happen and we finally got it.

Now we don’t have to go to foreign cities to take a picture with a Starbucks cup in hand or a selfie or a whole photoshoot posing with the cup. (Haha!)

Now one can visit the Valletta cafeteria found at the Valletta Waterfront.

So now, just before one can board a ship can stop for a Starbucks coffee or frappe. Then go right ahead boarding all hip and cool with a cup.

Starbucks is kinda a big deal for Maltesers. Today was the first day and the queue was INSANE. I’m pretty sure I spent half an hour to order and get my Caramel Frappuchino. But, I got it and I loved it! Sat outside overlooking the beauty of our Waterfront. It’s definitely a sight to enjoy while enjoying a Starbucks drink!

Starbucks in Malta verdict:

Atmosphere: as said, great outside and so is inside! When the hype cools down,I sure it will ensure a relaxing environment.

Price: Surprised that for a Starbucks it’s not that expensive. But it’s not somewhere I would go for coffee everyday.

Nevertheless, it was nice to enjoy the hype. I was one of the people who was rooting for an outlet here.

Stay hydrated!

To Honour Our Day!

Happy Women’s Day to every woman out there!

Busy Bee, my favourite cafeteria, decided to honour us women by offering a lovely selection of fancy nibbles and cakes! It was their first time in doing such a thing. It was lovely and sweet! This afternoon selection was vast, including parma ham sandwiches, egg and mayo sandwiches, salmon croissants…and the desserts, which was probably the best part!

This cafeteria is famous over here in Malta. It has been around for many years and its good a solid good reputation. In my opinion it is one of the best places to eat at. They are legit huge as they offer outside catering for various occasions including weddings. You can never ever go wrong if you choose Busy Bee.

The new place that has opened up at Mriehel is God-sent. It’s modern and the display is huge. You may have to wait a little while as it tends to be full up, especially during weekends. However, if you would like to go to a traditional Maltese cafeteria, I would suggest for you to go to the one at Msida. Parking may be a bit of a problem unlike at Mriehel.

Nevertheless, once you settle in at either place, you’re in for the best treat ever!

Peggy Porschen

I’ve been in London countless times. To my astonishment I had never ever heard of this lovely chic place. It’s close to London Victoria Station, in a quiet side street.

The exterior of the place is love at first sight. Really and truly, there’s a heart outside and the word ‘love’ is also on display with flowers around it. *so cute*!

Inside the place is just as lovely as the outside. It’s quite cosy and if you go during the afternoon, you may have to wait in line to get in as its rather popular. Well, no wonder! As I’ve said, the exterior makes you want to visit the place and see what it is all about. It is indeed intriguing. Also, if you simply search the hashtag of the place on instagram, you’ll see exactly my point. The place is an instagram-fest!

The hot chocolate is warm and makes you fuzzy on the inside. Especially if you had to wait a while to get a table.

But the muffins, well, they are instagram worthy but the taste is just fine, in my humble opinion.

Nevertheless, it is a place that one should go to, I mean, you will feel like you’re in Paris while in London. How cool is that?! Right?!

And plus, its a little refreshing having a hot chocolate picture that’s not of Starbucks. 😉

Filling pancake much?

Wow. Just wow. I’ve managed to eat two stacks of pancakes from Shoreditch, but I could not continue at Becky’s. I’m not sure why. But, it could be that the pancakes are a little too thick.

Having said that, it’s still AMAZING. I’ve been wanting to visit this little place in Naxxar, which is at the main road, close to the parish church – for quite some time. I would always see a lot of tasty posts on their Facebook, so last Sunday, I made it my mission to go and see what the hype was really all about.

It didn’t fail me. Do not expect a fancy place. Just go there for their amazing food and pancakes. I have yet to taste their burgers and milkshakes. (They are also very filling, from what I could see)

Till the next time, Becky’s! For now, thank you for making my ‘cheat’ meal experience worth it – and Bueno! 😉

It’s never too late to talk about Demel

If you ever go to Vienna, do visit Demel.

Let me put it this way, it’s like going to Rome and along the way you must also go to the Vatican. Otherwise, it would be illogical if you’ve been to Rome and did not go the Vatican.

Back to topic – Demel is, in my opinion one of the best pastry shops in Europe. I’ve been to fancy coffee shops in Europe but none really match up to Demel’s standard. Yes, it may be a little overpriced, especially if you buy their chocolates (they’re all downstairs, a lovely wide selection to choose from, to take back with you at home!)

But, the place is like an attraction in itself. It’s always busy, or at least, it happened to be so when I’ve visited. Still, it’s not overly crowded. One can still relax over tea or coffee and a delicious piece of cake to satisfy that sweet tooth!

The new cool snack bar

Danny’s at Qormi is one of a kind. It’s too modern and ‘hip’ to be called a snack bar. This ‘snack bar’ is located at Qormi’s industrial estate, in a very busy bypass. But if you want to relax a little in such a cool place, either during your lunch break or during a busy Saturday morning while running errands, Danny’s is the place to try out.

The staff  is young and energetic, really friendly and charismatic.

I like Danny’s as they offer a variety of foods, perhaps a little unusual too (from what an ordinary snack bar may offer) and the healthy options are delicious and reasonably priced. Another plus is that while you’re there, the kitchen is on full display, thus, the place is always kept clean.

In conclusion, I’ve never been to a Qormi snack bar where you get silver service-like treatment. Modern in style is the way to go!

Oh, and the homemade ice tea is heavenly too!

Nadur should not be famous only for it’s annual Carnival street party…

…Just sayin’.

I’m taking you to our sister island, Gozo. It’s smaller than Malta and there’s still some trees/greenery left too!

Nadur is a quaint little village, which is mostly famous during Carnival season that happens around February. A celebration of colours, dressing up, excessive drinking, well…one big street party all through the weekend.

But, I like to go to Nadur to eat at The Fat Rabbit. The portions, as you can notice, are huge and it’s really not expensive. And trust me, the food is of great quality.

Highly recommended when in Gozo to dine out for dinner in a quiet and intimate place.

But if you want to club a little, darling, do it in style.

There are many cocktail places and most are really good. But, The Thirsty Barber has got mad skills when it comes to cocktail making. This is the topnotch place for cocktails. They are pricey yes, but you have to go at least once in your life when in Malta AND in Paceville.

If you want to dance to jazz music or pleasantly listen to live music, why not do it with a stylish drink in hand?

Cheers, hun!
